The need for your help continues! At this writing, there has been a ceasefire and a chance to focus on the repairs needed after the missile strike. We don’t know how long it will last, but we have to make the most of it. There is still a tremendous amount to be done:
- The rains following the missile strike exposed further damage forcing more families to relocate – some with friends or relatives, and others with hotels an hour away from their homes – provided by the city.
- At this time the national housing authority is declining to compensate home owners for repairs to extensions to the original housing structure – which speaks to about 90% of the damages experienced in the Village of Peace
- Children are returning to school today (Sunday, 12.4.2026). But they face broken windows leaving some classrooms sealed off from students.
- Some parents are still not comfortable sending their children to school due to the uncertainty of the ceasefire. This is especially true for those children who are bused-in from neighboring cities like Mitzpe Ramon and Yerucham.
- Some children do not have their uniforms which were either destroyed by damage to their homes or cannot be retrieved from structures deemed unsafe for entry since the bombing.
- Damage to the multi-purpose building has caused meetings and worship services – now that gatherings are permitted – to be held at the school also (between and after hours.)
The length of the ceasefire is uncertain. Our goal is to bring certainty back into the lives of our children and elders as much as possible in these difficult times. Your donations are vital to this effort and will assist us in healing, restoring and rebuilding.
We are and remain eternally thankful!
